Software Engineer (Data Platform)

We are hiring a Software Engineer (Data Platform) to support a leading financial services organisation undergoing a major data platform transformation.  This is a highly hands-on engineering role, with approximately 80% focused on software development, working on enterprise-scale applications, APIs, data services, and cloud-based data platforms. You will contribute to the design, development, and enhancement of critical systems supporting market infrastructure and enterprise data capabilities.  Responsibilities  • Design, develop and support scalable software applications, APIs and data services  • Build and maintain data transformation and ETL solutions  • Develop cloud-native applications and platform capabilities  • Implement CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code (IaC)  • Collaborate with architecture, product, and data teams to deliver high-quality solutions  • Leverage AI-assisted development practices to improve engineering productivity and quality  • Contribute to software design, testing, automation, and production support  Requirements  • Strong SQL skills  • Proven software development experience with Python or Java & Spring Boot  • Experience building production-grade applications and APIs  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (GCP preferred)  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code (IaC)  • Exposure to data transformation, ETL, or data engineering practices  • Familiarity with modern software engineering best practices and agile delivery  • Experience using AI tools beyond basic code completion to enhance software development workflows  Preferred  • Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP)  • Exposure to financial services, capital markets, trading, market data, or exchange environments  • Experience with data platforms, data products, or enterprise data ecosystems  What's on Offer  • Opportunity to work on business-critical enterprise data platforms  • Exposure to modern cloud, data engineering and AI-enabled software development practices  If you are a software engineer who enjoys coding, building scalable solutions, and working at the intersection of software engineering and data, we would like to hear from you.
