Job Description
Your Mission
This position is responsible for building a robotic manipulation software platform that transforms proven bin-picking technologies into a scalable, maintainable, and deployable product for rollout across manufacturing facilities worldwide. The successful candidate will lead the internalization, standardization, and productization of the company’s robotic manipulation software platform.
What To Expect
• Define and maintain the overall architecture of the robotic manipulation software platform.
• Transform existing project-specific software into a reusable and configurable software product.
• Establish software architecture standards, coding guidelines, and development frameworks.
• Drive the modularization and standardization of software components for global deployment.
• Design scalable software infrastructure that supports multiple factories, part families, and robotic cells.
• Architect end-to-end robotic manipulation pipelines, including vision processing, object segmentation, 6D pose estimation, grasp planning, motion planning, and robot execution.
• Design scalable MLOps infrastructure and architect AI model deployment workflows, including data management, model training, validation, deployment, and monitoring.
• Develop deployment strategies for global factory rollouts.
• Create software architecture documentation, standards, and best practices.
• Support technology transfer to regional engineering teams.
• Lead architecture reviews and technical design discussions, and evaluate emerging robotics and AI technologies.
• Prepare technical reports, document program code, and develop setup manuals.
What You'll Bring
• Master’s or PhD degree in Robotics, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline, with more than 3 years of industry experience.
• Extensive experience in software architecture or robotics software development.
• Proven ability to develop scalable software platforms rather than project-specific solutions.
• Experience with industrial automation systems and a strong understanding of industrial communication protocols such as OPC UA and PROFINET.
• Proficiency in implementing control and communication solutions using C#, SQL, REST APIs, and MQTT.
• Ability to program industrial robotic manipulators using C/C++ and Python.
• Strong knowledge of robotic bin-picking systems and related AI solutions, including pose estimation, synthetic data generation, reinforcement learning, and imitation learning.
• Experience with ROS 1 or ROS 2, Linux-based operating systems, ARM-based systems, and related libraries and software tools.
• Patents, publications, specialist certifications, or awards in robotics and automation would be an added advantage.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and a methodical approach to fault diagnosis.
